Corrections and Update Policy

How KentuckyWaterFiltration.com handles source changes, utility mapping corrections, broken links, new reports, measurement errors, and material editorial updates.

Report an issue

Send enough detail for the team to reproduce the problem.

Email zerotracewater@gmail.com with the page URL, disputed text, source that supports the correction, and the date you observed the issue. Utility employees and public officials may include the correct PWSID, report year, service-area document, or replacement URL.

Requests are reviewed against the source hierarchy in the research standards. A disagreement with a third-party health guideline or treatment opinion is not automatically a factual error; the page will distinguish the source, legal standard, sample context and editorial interpretation.

Update process

Material changes receive a new reviewed date and a documented note.

  1. Reproduce: confirm the page, source and claimed error.
  2. Verify: compare the newest utility, Kentucky Division of Water, EPA or other authoritative record.
  3. Correct: update the visible text, links, metadata, schema and research inventory together.
  4. Document: record the change in the site changelog and revise the reviewed date.
  5. Resubmit: update the XML sitemap and request recrawling after deployment when appropriate.
Current sitewide review date: September 13, 2026. Methodology and editorial-policy pages use a routine 18–24 month review window, with earlier revisions when a material source, regulatory, technical, or business-process change is identified. City and utility pages retain their own reviewed dates. Historical source documents may describe earlier sampling or report years; those dates are preserved rather than rewritten as current measurements.
Need a property-level answer?

A correction request and a water-review request serve different purposes.

Use this policy for factual or technical site errors. Use the water-review form to discuss testing, filtration, installation or financing for a property.
